April 6, 2015: The Derr Picnic at PPL Park

At the PPL Lake (PPL Montour Preserve, Northern Pennsylvania), Trinity Derr and Gaje Trate is playing in the tree. They are sister and brother.

I like Cotton Candy so:

Trinity brought her toy Cotton Candy machine to the park to make me some Cotton Candy under the supervision of her mother Tasha Derr and boyfriend Rylan Trate.  The candy that they made here was Sour Apple.

They had about 72 people at the picnic. Several children had a good time at the Easter Egg hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt has been going on for at least 45 years at the lake. But the idea of a Easter Picnic goes back over 60 years ago, before all the people at this picnic was born.

Melissa (Miss Pappa John's) who's spouse owns the Papa John's at 1949 North Susquehanna Trail in Selinsgrove, Pa., is on the left and Deb Delaney, her aunt, is on the right. Tasha Derr is the daughter of Deb Delaney.

Deb is married to the famous hunter and fisherman, Steve Delaney who has the record for coughing the largest fish in the Susquehanna River.

Every year as I go up to the lake at Easter, I see this large Derr family growing larger. For my birthday, Linda, Melissa mother and Melissa's mate gave me a free Pizza and several Pizza coupons. Some years they give me a cake and plenty of candy. Linda's  sisters are always giving me something to eat and a place to stay. I am not sure if they like me or if they just want to fill me with junk to kill me.
